"I've been purchasing Seventh Generation 100% Recycled Bathroom tissue since at least late 1980's or early 1990 and have been a very satisfied customer. This is our way of closing the loop for recycling, as we sort corrugated and telephone books, for curbside collection, and they are sold to recycling companies like Seventh Generation to make new products.
As an environmental activist, I was amongst the families who stopped a statewide landfill and garbage incinerator in Acadiana that would have leached highly toxic metals and by products of incineration into our sole source aquifer from where we receive our drinking/potable waters. I also helped put into place curb side recycling pick up and drop off sites in our city and rural areas. Recycling is crucial for our communities and our environment, now more than ever. No one deserves a landfill or an incinerator to contaminate their air, soils, waters, and precipitation. Recycling can avoid most of that.
As a toilet paper, Seventh Generation is strong, yet reasonably soft and works as well as non-recycled white papers, but it is bleached with hydrogen peroxide instead of highly toxic chlorine, the latter of which poisons the air and precipitation, the waters and fisheries, and the people who use the products. Seventh Generation recycled paper does none of that. It is better for me and my family, and the environment.
Additionally, because it is 100% recycled, no additional trees are felled, which would otherwise add more greenhouse gas, CO2, to the atmosphere. Seventh Generation 100% recycled paper is good for me, my family, and Planet Earth. What more can I ask of a paper?
The monetary price is comparable, but the costs to the ambient and overall environment are greater with NON-RECYCLED papers.
This is another good reason for purchasing Seventh Generation recycled toilet paper from corrugated boxes and telephone books. I support protection to consumers, families, and the environment."
