Healthy Origins White Chia Seeds -- 16 oz

100% Natural (Salvia Hispanic L). The Richest Whole Food Source of Omega-3's and Fiber in Nature! The most widely known and accepted benefit of the omega-3 fatty acid consumption is its link to improved cardiovascular health. From all indication and research Chia works just as well as fish oil when it comes to lowering levels of triglycerides and LDL cholesterol while raising beneficial HDL cholesterol.  . Chia is a sustainable and environmentally friendly product. The high oil content of its leaves acts as an extremely potent insect repellent and eliminates the need from pesticides being used to protect the crop. The use of chia as an omega-3 source prevents depletion of natural fish stocks and also eliminates concerns about the accumulation of toxins such as dioxin and mercury that may accumulate in fish and fish products.  . Solvent extraction and artificial preservatives are not needed when chia seed is used in human or animal diets. This is another advantage compared to omega-3 sources such as algae.  . Oil from chia has the highest proportion of omega-3 fatty acids of any plant known. Chia has 8 times more Omega-3's than fish oil without the strong taste.

"Anything that keeps me from having to swallow a fish pill is good in my book and these Chia seeds have Omega-3 Fatty Acids 2500 mg + Omega-6 Fatty Acids 760 mg + Omega-9 Fatty Acids 250 mg.
They disappear into my morning shake or pretty much any food I sprinkle them on."

"I haven't much researched chia yet, but compared to the other nutritional stats of a couple brands on Vitacost, I tried these. They make pudding very quickly and don't get lumpy like Bob's Red Mill Black Seeds, for some reason. (I like those too, anyway.) Maybe they're processed more, Idk. I just hope they're as good for me as people say. For people who can't have dairy or any sweetener but Stevia and fruit, this makes one heck of a pudding. Excited to keep experimenting with the ground version and cooking/baking."
