Wasa Crispbread Multigrain -- 8.8 oz

Made with Whole Grain Rye Wheat Oat Barley and Rye Bran. All Natural Fat-Free No Trans Fat. Each Slice Contains Two Grams of Protein and Fiber. Wasa is the world's largest producer of crispbread.  Every year the company sells around 60000 tons of crispbread in 40 countries.  The Swedes eat more crispbread than any other people in the world almost 4 kilograms per capita.  Wasa's largest markets outside Sweden are the other Scandinavian countries and Germany closely followed by Poland the Netherlands France and the USA. However crispbread as a category exists almost everywhere.  . Wasa which has a staff of around 950 people has been owned by the Barilla Group since 1999.  The head office is in Stockholm Sweden and the company has production facilities in Filipstad in Sweden Celle in Germany and Hamar in Norway. The name Wasa has its roots in an old Swedish word vase which means sheaf.  Since the 14th century the coat of arms of the first king of Sweden Gustav Vasa and his family has featured a stylized sheaf.  Gustav Vasa was sometimes called the "Rye King".  No-one knows exactly where the name comes from but it may have its origins in the fact that the king demanded that his people pay their taxes in the form of rye a valuable commodity at the time.  For many years Wasa used a picture of the Rye King on its packaging. This was later replaced by a royal crown above the name.  Today the crown has been evolved to a crown-sheaf which represents the origins of Wasa.  It also lends a royal air to crispbread something which is also reflected in the fact that the company has been appointed purveyor to His Majesty the King of Sweden.

*The Most Filing, Versatile Cracker Ever?!*
 February 20, 2016
" I realize it seems strange to say that Wasa crackers are my very Favorite crackers, but they are.. For at least 10 years the Wasa Multigrain & Hearty Rye crackers have been staples in my pantry. Normally, I buy 8 packs at a time & sometimes 10. So, I hate to run out of them. If you have eaten these or read the other reviews, you will wonder why I feel this way about this a hard, dry cracker.
When I hit 45, my energy & health took a noticeable downward turn & my weight an upward one! So. I did not diet, but rather made one permanent change at a time in what I eat every day.
Because bread makes me hungry for more, I needed a practical, useful substitute. I tried every available form of healthy Breads & crackers I could find. I like several Health food store breads, but actually too much. This cracker is the perfect alternative to Bread. And it is so Much Healthier than ordinary crackers like Townhouse or Ritz.
I use these in so many ways: With Salads (of course), with Soup, with Peanut Butter & Honey, with Hummus, with Tuna Fish Salad & also with beans/cheese/salsa for lunch. These are also good Heated in the Oven with garlic salt & butter to go with Eggs in the morning or with an Italian entre at night. They are also wonderful with plain butter or cheese (on top). I really enjoy these without feeling the need to "binge" on them, as I do with bread or rolls.
Before giving these a real chance, I thought they were tasteless. However, I have come to appreciate their subtle nutty aroma & slightly salty taste. And I love the way they hold up without breaking under any topping. I also love their simple, healthy ingredients. So, now you know why I am so fond of Wasa crackers.
Why not really give these a real try? They are a whole new healthy eating adventure!* "

Great snack

" These cracker breads have been around since I was a little girl and still taste great. I like them for breakfast or a snack with some spreadable cheese. They are low in calories and have lots of fiber. What's not to love?! "

At least $2 cheaper than the grocery store.
 May 17, 2013
" My local Ralph's and Vons barely stock these crackers, and the price is outrageous: $3.69 to $4.69, so once again, Vitacost prices rule. I feel good about eating these crackers, they are dense and healthy, lots of fiber, great taste. I have two with some raw milk cheddar on the weekends as a treat. Remarkably, Vitacost shipped them and they didn't get crushed or smashed, so I will definitely purchase from Vitacost again. "
