natural! - the solution to plastic smell

"We love these bags (and the wax paper too). I use them daily to pack sandwiches, nuts, crackers, etc.. for my husband. The are natural with no harmful chemicals. I had been looking for a solution to that plastic smell from plastic wrap and bags - this product was it!"

"Sheer nostalgia, my childhood consisted of tin lunch boxes and sandwich in wax paper bag. Wonderful. Now I collect tin lunch boxes and use them for my lunches. I was soo missing those wax paper bags. Now I know they are better health wax for the microwave. YAY!"

"These waxed bags are a good alternative to plastic. My husband uses them for his daily sandwich and they work fine. However, they are not good for long term storage only foods you are going to eat that day."

"I was discussing plastic bags with someone recently & we were trying to think of a more eco-friendly alternative when I recalled the waxed bags so popular years ago. I then tried to find them in a local store with no luck. Since I use the eco friendly baking cups that Vitacost carries I searched for the waxed bags...voila!! These bags are great & easier to recycle than plastic...I have even warmed foods in the microwave using these bags. THESE BAGS ARE UNBLEACHED, NON-TOXIC, LANDFILL SAFE & AFFORDABLE !!"

"This is a better sandwich/snack bag than anything plastic. Not only for the environment but for food as well. The brown color keeps the light out of the bag, there is just enough wax, but not too much - to keep the bag closed once you fold it over. It also holds moisture into the bread, so your sandwich never ends up dry. I don't feel guilty at all packing my kids lunches every day. The bag is large - it easily fits a big sandwich. Not feeling guilty is probably my favorite reason I use these."

"I love these waxed paper bags. I use them a lot for making big batches or pancakes, burritos, etc and freezing them individually and then just popping them in the microwave. Great product and price!"

Works good for some purposes

"I use plastic bags to freeze serving sizes of food and such and this is not so good for that unless you put it in this paper bag and then in a plastic bad which kind of defeats the purpose. I love the fact that it is paper, yet if you are packaging something that you don't want much or any air getting to it, it doesn't work so well. It does help to have this around to use when you can use the paper though, instead of the plastic bags."

"Wax paper bags from the older days long ago! They save money for doing the many things we wrap to put into the refrig. Most of all, the need to use toxic plastic wraps to heat or cover foods has disappeared from this house. Great for the health of my family & for the enviroment."

"I love being able to divide up single portions of chicken/fish/meat in these bags, then put them altogether in a larger bag to put in the freezer. None of the problems that plastic wrap has, esp. when frozen. Also great for packing lunches."

"I love these things. They are a great replacement for plastic baggies, although they don't have a closure. So you have to fold the top or something if you want to keep the goods inside. microwaveable too."

"I'm not fond of plastic bags for many reasons and so these are a good replacement.
Pros: Not plastic, biodegradable
Cons: Don't close or keep items from getting stale overnight. (though I don't mind this)"
