New Look! Compostable - For Use in Municipal Facilites Where Applicable. Made with GMO Free Crops. Fits Most Tall Bins. Certified for Home Composting Too! BioBags take the mess out of food scrap collection keeping your organic waste bin clean and odor-free. BioBag is a world leader in providing bags and films for the collection of organic waste for the purpose of composting. Unlike regular plastic BioBags can be consumed by micro-organisms that live in our soils. Because we use starches from renewable crops our bags can be readily composted along with organic waste in municipal composting facilities. BioBag isn't a large petroleum-based plastic bag company that now conveniently dabbles in the new business of compostable bags. We are a small privately owned company dedicated to only producing certified compostable gabs and films. The resin we use is sourced from Italy as there is no "compostable resin" supplier in North America that can guarantee a resin that is based on GMO-free crops. The resin is then blown into compostable bags and films at our production facility in California. Little steps really do make a BIG difference when creating products for the Green industry is all we do! Certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute. Meets ASTM D6400. This certification assures that BioBag products meet the specifications found in ASTM D6400 and will compost rapidly and safely when placed in a municipal or commercial composting facility. Facilities may not exist in your area. BioBag 13 Gallon Bags are Home Compost Certified. In addition to disposal in a municipal composting site this BioBag product is also certified by OK Compost (European) for disposal in home backyard compost settings. The certification process tests a product's ability to decompose at a rate similar to other compostable items placed in the same setting. We are proud to have earned this distinction from OK Compost and more importantly assure out home composting users that this BioBag product will do what it is supposed to do!
"These bags are very easy to open and pull apart, contrary to what I've experienced with regular garbage bags. I really like the fact they are biodegradable. So far, they've held up fine with our normal garbage, and we've not experienced any holes or falling apart of the bag when we carry it out. I will continue to purchase these."
"I have tried several different compostable trash bags and this one is the best by far. It holds up to me smashing the trash down to fit more in the bag and doesn't shred or open at the seams. I will definitely stick with this brand regardless of the cost."
"I have used these bags for years and feel good that I am no longer using plastic garbage bags. That being said, there are a few things to watch out for with them. They are much thinner so they tear easily. And, the last few boxes I have gotten seem to be cut a little more narrowly at the top. So, you have to be extra careful not to tear it when you are stretching it around the top of the can. We recycle and compost a ton so we generally don't fill them up in a week. If you are one to dump everything in your trash, these bags are not for you. They won't hold up to the weight or wetness."
"It is deeply satisfying to throw all our non-recyclable trash into these bags knowing the bag will decompose into the Earth. Much better than throwing a trash bag into the garbage pail and it taking many, many multiple years to break down. Good consumer item, beneficial to our planet."
