"I followed the directions by diluting 1 capful in 1 cup of warm water, waiting 30 seconds after application, then rinsing. Unfortunately it left my hair stiff, sticky and dry. I do have fairly dry hair so I had my teenage daughter with oily hair give it a try -- a disaster on her hair as well. It also stings my scalp. This is by far the worst hair care product I've ever tried."

"Conditioner is not enough by itself on long hair. Would need to be used with leave in product as well. Nice scent. Gritty, and watery after diluting per instructions."

"I have been a lifelong fan of Dr Bronners Products. While this product continues the use of organic high quality ingredients, looks unique and promising, I was not satisfied at all. First it is not so easy to always have to dilute the and mix with water to find the optimal balance and second this product contains to much lemon oil, it burned my scalp and eye's often I was struggling to finish the shower after using this product. While it conditioned somewhat decent, this product is not easy to use. Try something else!!"

"I am a HUGE fan of DrBronner's soaps, all scents, liquid and bar so I was THRILLED to find they had created a conditioner and smoothing balm and purchased both and tried them for a week. YUK! The shikkake rinse out conditioner you dilute out with a cup of water. for this i used a regular water bottle (good to shake and disperse the concentrated stuff)and pouring it through my hair DIDNT untangle my hair but left it thick feeling. so i rinsed very very well (if not, it can stain your tub brown) and then tried the leave in cream. Now the cream DID make my hair shiny however my hair had NO movement due to the greasyness. I didnt even use much and i was left with shiny hair that was still tangled and stiff."

"I did not like anything about this one. It is thick and hard to mix and apply. It is messy and smells bad and does not help the tanglling in the hair very much. I like Dr. Bronner's products with exception of the hair products. I used it once or twice and that was it."

"I liked this rinse, it seemed to condition the hair, add shine, plus the citrus scent was nice. The only problem I have with this rinse is the Shikaikai bits. You have to rinse REALLY well. If not there will be pieces of Shikaikai in your hair. I've used the real Shikaikai so I understand, I just didn't think that this product would have so much, but that's a good thing!!"

"This has replaced my porosity control by roux. I'm trying to get away from some of the chemicals in my beauty products and this fits the bill. Cost Effective because you dilute it. I apply mine with an old sports bottle - fill it up and keep the diluted solution in the fridge until ready to use. I don't care for the smell much, however it's not a lingering odor."

"I thought the product itself was nice. It moisturized nicely but it left the shower very slippery and I almost fell. I had to rinse and rinse the tub after I used the rinse. I probably won't use it again but to send it back was as much as the product itself."

"This will make your hair so shiny, especially ff you wash your hair with soap oryou have hard water. This rinse will make the difference between a tangled mess and silky smooth shiny locks. I used to use a little white vinegar in a pitcher of water to rinse my hair, but this stuff is much nicer. I use 1 capful to 2 cups water in a plastic bottle, shake it up, and pour it over my hair after washing my hair with homemade soap. I still use a little regular conditioner on my ends. I occassionally use regular shampoo on my hair, and I still rinse my hair with this rinse. it's great stuff and lasts a long time since it's concentrated."

"This product is a great idea, but the Bronner company hasn't yet presented it in a form that's easy to use. What comes in the bottle is a concentrate, and the instructions say to take 1-2 capfuls, dilute it in a cup of water, and pour over your hair while working it in. This is a very tricky proposition in the shower. We found it worked best diluting the mixture before getting in the shower. My boyfriend, who has short hair, found it worked well, but it is much harder to work into my long hair one-handed while pouring. We both found that the citrus juice (although it smells good) stung our skin. It ran out quickly, too. We try to use only organic products, but we have yet to find an organic hair conditioner that lives up to its description and provides good value for our money. We're looking forward to any improvements that Dr Bronner's makes on this product in the future."

Finally! Organic = shiny, soft, full, October 3, 2008
By EarthGirl from Norton, OH

"I have used only organic products for the past 3 years, but none have left my hair soft or shiney in the least. I used this product as directed, then applied my regular organic conditioner as a 2nd step. I can't believe it! My hair is shinier, softer, and fuller than when I used conventional products. As an added bonus, my hands are very soft and moisturized just from working product through my hair. I will be mixing this with water and using it as a rinse-off skin moisturizer."
