As of 2006, Mountain House changed the shelf life of their pouches from 5 years to 7 YEARS!! Based on storage studies they conducted over many years, the shelf life is at least 7 years from date of manufacture, as long as the pouch is stored unopened in a cool area. After 7 years, a change in flavor and appearance may be noticed. For best results, Mountain House recommends avoiding prolonged storage at temperatures above 75° F (24° C).

"Who would have thought this would actually taste good... I'm an explorer so I like to try new things, especially the unusual. So, I really didn't expect much from this. But it actually tasted good! I would get it again, if it was a little less expensive. Definitely worth a try if you're adventurous! The ice cream, though dry and crumbly, actually has a creamy taste."

"I was very pleased with this product! The chocolate part was a little hard to bite into, but if you break the ice cream sandwich apart, it's fine. Tastes just like an ice cream sandwich out of the freezer, except no melting!! Very tasty!"
