NSI Licorice Root 450 mg Per Serving -- 450 mg - 100 Capsules

NSI Licorice Root 450 mg Per Serving -- 450 mg - 100 Capsules

Promotes respiratory and digestive health. Also supports healthy cholesterol levels, cardiovascular health and liver health. . May also provide relief from discomforts associated with menopause and women’s monthly cycles. How Does NSI® Licorice Root Work? Licorice root, derived from the stems and underground roots of the Glycyrrhiza glabra plant, is considered one of the most important herbs in traditional Chinese medicine. Valued as a demulcent (soothing, coating agent) and expectorant (helps rid phlegm and mucous), licorice root has been used for centuries to promote digestive and respiratory health. The active constituents in licorice root include glycyrrhizin, a compound that may help stimulate the production of mucous in the respiratory tract, potentially making it less “sticky” and easier to expel from the body. Glycyrrhizin may also inhibit the activity of two enzymes that break down prostaglandin E (PGE). PGE circulating in the body may encourage the production of stomach mucous, which can help protect the stomach’s lining. Glycyrrhizin also supports the body’s natural anti-inflammatory response (by helping to inhibit the breakdown of cortisol), promoting joint, skin, liver and lung health. Licorice root contains potent polyphenolic flavonoids (antioxidants) that work to protect healthy cells from damage caused by free radicals. They may help protect low-density lipoprotein (LDL) in arterial walls from oxidative stress, promoting cholesterol and cardiovascular health. One of the most abundant antioxidants found in licorice root, the flavonoid glabradin, is well known for its protective effects on LDL oxidation and its beneficial effects on skin. Licorice root also contains phytoestrogens, or plant estrogens, which may function like a mild form of estrogen in the body, offering relief from hot flashes, poor mood and other discomforts associated with menopause and women’s monthly cycles. NSI® Licorice Root provides 450 mg of licorice root per one-capsule serving. Take one capsule once to three times daily for best results. NSI® Licorice Root is better because it:. • Provides 450 mg of licorice root per one-capsule serving. • Is a better value than other licorice root products on the market, with each bottle containing 100 servings.  . Did You Know? All NSI supplements are packaged in HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) bottles. These bottles keep moisture vapor out, protecting the freshness and integrity of their contents, and are 400% more effective compared other brands currently using PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) bottles. HDPE bottles do not break as glass can and are also recyclable so we urge you to please recycle them.

By Steve52 from Lebanon, TN (Nashville)

"Great price on an average quality licorice root. I take it for adrenal support occasionally. Not as good as Soloray, but it is alot less $$."

Adrenal Support minus side effects, January 3, 2009
By Xicota from Cambridge, MA

"I've tried licorice before for adrenal support and have had side effects including changes in my voice and possible ovarian pain (?). Maybe I was taking too much - I was eating gluten-free licorice candies.

I was wary about trying licorice again, but I've been taking this licorice root for a week without any negative effects and plenty of positive effects.

Even though I'm already taking some adrenal support herbs, I definitely notice a benefit from taking the licorice in addition."
