"Aaahhhh! It never said anywhere that this product smells like licorice and I really despise the smell of licorice. It is probably due to the fenugreek in the product. It does have nice consistency if one can get past the smell. The bar is quite tiny, though. Maybe not the best value for the money."

"I stopped using 'commercial' soaps a long while ago. I searched for a long while for another soap besides Chandrika, which I love. I bought this simply by the description & a few reviews. I am very picky about smells, I prefer the more natural scents & this one is good! Strong yet subtle, warm, inviting - reminds me very much of an East Indian shop. Slightly woodsy-ish but as it sits in the open air, the scent dissipates & isn't as strong. I love the smell, but others may not. It hasn't yet dried out my skin & helps my son's eczema. I use it to soak hand laundry, which gives it a wonderful calming scent when it's dry. I have noticed that when used on my hair, the soap will dry it out. Lathers thickly & easily but can leave a residue if not well rinsed. I love the stuff! I keep several bars in my stock. There are no animal products in the soap, no chemical sudsing agents, all natural!"

"Good soap. The smell seems very strong. When I unpacked the bar the whole house smelled. But that only lasted until the soap was used a couple of times. It also doesn't last long on hands or body. Over all it feels like a very clean and natural product. It does get very soft though, probably because the soap was made with alkali. Because of that I would recommend using it for the shower not for the hands."

"I like this soap, however it was a little more pungent than I had expected. It smells alot like patchouli or sandalwood so if you don't like spicy spents, I would pass on the product. If you do though, I think you'll enjoy this."

"This is a tiny bar of soap with a big fragrance which reminds me and my husband of our 'hippie' days. Not only does it smell great and leave a really nice scent behind, it lathers better than most soaps. Excellent ingredients! The only part that is a little negative is that it is somewhat drying if used every day...at least for us."

"It's not worth the price! It literally dissolves in water and even the slightest moisture residue left on the soap dish causes it to melt. I prefer chandrika - cheaper and lasts longer. Not sure how the ingredient quality compares though"

"i tried this soap in the hope that the neem in it would help my acne. i could feel it tingle while washing but i still have skin issues. none the less, i love the size of the bar, perfect palm size and most of all the scent. i will use this soap again and again and have purchased another bar in the sandalwood scent. and the price is quite nice as well!"

"this is a really good quality soap. I am sensitive to many soaps and this one is very nice to use. The smell is very masculine. I like it well enough, but a little bit of the smell goes a long way. This is coming from someone who adores the smell of patchouli...this fragrance in more woodsy...hard to describe. I recommend the soap if you like patchouli, woodsy masculine fragrances. I myself prefer straight patchouli."
