"Wonderful product...taste is smooth and creamy without a bitter aftertaste as I have found some other coconut oils to have. Scent is nice and rich. "I'm nothing if not thorough and with the advent of the internet, my inbred (and sometimes I think 'inborn'), instinct for research and the ability to conduct the same has been increased by an order of magnitude greater than an hundredfold. I can therefore, almost without concern for contradiction, inform everyone that you will not find a better deal on Extra Virgin Coconut Oil than (currently) right here at Vitacost. And, having tried many other Extra Virgin Coconut Oils by various producers and purveyors, I can recommend Nutiva as one of the finest. Made from fresh coconuts (not copra) and extracted without the use of heat or chemicals and having a light flavor of fresh coconut, I enjoy this oil, literally, by the spoonful as well as in many recipes, and for both shallow and deep frying (it is an unsurpassed emollient too!). Also, although a high 'Lauric acid' content is highly desireable in your coconut oil, it can sometimes lead to an almost 'soapy' flavor. Not so with Nutiva. And with both the low purchase and shipping costs found at Vitacost, I feel confident in recommending you quit foolin' around and just order up all you can afford right now! Heck, I'm giving it as kind of 'stocking stuffer' at Christmas time to all my friends and relatives! Truthfully, I'd almost rather keep this information to myself so as not to endanger my supply but I'm also thinking that if Vitacost and Nutiva can keep the quality/price ratio at it's current level by selling tons of this fine product than the more we will all benefit. "Been using coconut oil for many years. It tastes real good in baking, frying, cooking, stir frying, and making soups. Good quality coconut oil doesn't turn rancid. In fact if you use it on baking goods, it doesn't turn bad as quickly.
In term of cost, as far as I know, it's the cheapest brand in the market, buying it from Vitacost ... I've done my homework comparing costs from different website and comparing other brands too. I used to buy another brand and when I finally found Nutiva, it's like God-send! The aroma is so much better! If you don't believe it, try it! Enjoy."
