"As someone who has been plagued by canker sores since childhood I jumped at the oportunity to try something other than Zilactin for them.
I just used this product 2 days ago after scratching my back lower gums with a toothpick. It can be a bit tricky drying the area prior to applying the little tablet thing but after some jockying was able it to adhere. I was surprised yesterday morning that it was still in place and functioning well.
The advantage of this product over Zilactin is that you don't have to wait for it to dry, which can be very time consuming. Press and hold it to the damaged tissue for 20 seconds and it sticks then forms a thick cover of protection.
Try it, you may waste a few of them learning how to do it but I don't leave home without it now especially when traveling out of the country."

"I've had chronic canker sores all my life and seriously, I have tried everything. This product is a godsend. This is the only over-the-counter canker sore product that has EVER worked for me, and the only one it's ever even crossed my mind to recommend. I discovered it 2 years ago and it works so well I can still hardly believe it. A little tricky to use at first, but SOOO worth it. . It forms a durable, flexible barrier that completely covers the sore, which keeps it clean, protects it from your teeth, and best of all, eliminates the pain for HOURS. Provides much better pain relief than anesthetics, and lasts much, much longer. Plus there's no numbness and no awful bitter flavor, so you can eat and actually ENJOY your food!! . . Description: A flat, dry, orange-and-white tablet, about 1/4" in diameter. Active ingredient is menthol (for pain relief I think) but there's no mentol flavor to it. 6 per pack. You dry off the canker sore with a Q-tip and then apply the tablet. It hydrates and becomes a blob of stiff gel that covers the sore for several hours. I've had it last as long as 12 hours, but if you eat, it wears away faster. . . Tips: To get the tablet to stick, it's important to DRY THE SORE, then press the tablet in place for at least 15 seconds. For the first 5-10 minutes, be careful not to dislodge it, especially when swallowing. If it falls off, the wet tablet won't stick again. . It's hard to get the tablets to stick to sores on the tongue. Get the sore REALLY dry before applying the tablet, then tip your head back and stick your tongue out for a couple of minutes. Sounds crazy, but it immobilizes the tongue and helps you not swallow, which gives the tablet a chance to really stick. (FYI, the gel wears away a lot faster on the tongue.) . When I get a bunch of tiny canker sores, I carefully break a tablet in half (or even 4ths). For the best pain relief, make sure they're big enough to fully cover the sores. . . . Oh, and by the way, if you've tried Cankermelts, these are nothing like that. Seriously, Canker Cover is 1000x better."
