"My locs were once very dry and brittle, and broke off often, but when I started using Lily of the Desert Aloe Vera Gelly and Nutiva Certified Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil on my waist length locs. "This aloe gelly is the next best thing to making your own gel, which I did for awhile. It has minimal preservatives & no alcohol, so it is not drying- but it will leave your skin toned.
