NSI Synergy Prenatal Plus Multi-Vitamin -- 180 Capsules

NSI Synergy Prenatal Plus Multi-Vitamin -- 180 Capsules

Enhanced prenatal multi-vitamin for expectant and new mothers featuring optimal levels of essential nutrients—including calcium, iron and folic acid— to support a healthy pregnancy. Now including probiotics for healthy digestion and nutrient assimilation, and DHA for healthy infant brain, vision and nerve development. How Does NSI® Synergy Prenatal Plus Multi-Vitamin Work? Specially formulated for women planning a pregnancy, already pregnant or nursing a child, Synergy Prenatal Plus Multi-Vitamin is a high-quality, daily nutritional supplement that provides optimal levels of essential nutrients to support a healthy pregnancy and promote healthy infant development. Synergy Prenatal Plus contains a broad spectrum of vitamins and minerals for comprehensive nutritional support, plus added fruit and vegetable extracts, fiber, soy, probiotics and herbal nutrients for antioxidant protection and to promote healthy digestion, immune function, sleep and more throughout pregnancy. Synergy Prenatal Plus features the following key nutrients to meet women’s increased nutritional needs during pregnancy:. Calcium, 1.3 g. Necessary for fetal bone, teeth and nerve development, calcium is also important for expectant mothers to maintain their own bone health as stores may be used to support fetal growth. Iron (Ferrochel®), 27 g. Iron is needed for the production of both maternal and fetal hemoglobin (which carries oxygen throughout the body) and healthy red blood cells. Because a woman’s blood volume increases up to 50 percent during pregnancy, her need for iron is greater. Iron will also be stored by the fetus during the latter part of pregnancy for use during the first six months of life. Synergy Prenatal Plus contains Ferrochel® iron, a superior form that’s better tolerated and more bioavailable (easily absorbed) than other forms of iron. Folic Acid, 800 mcg. Folic acid is a B vitamin that’s used by a woman’s body to make new cells, including those that will form the brain, spine, organs, skin and bones, in her baby. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommends that all women of childbearing age consume 400 mcg of folic acid daily to help neural tube defects (spina bifida and anencephaly) in their children. Some studies indicate that a higher dosage of folic acid is required for some women to achieve optimal blood levels. As a result, NSI® Synergy Prenatal Plus Multi-Vitamin provides 800 mcg, double the minimum requirements. . DHA, 50 mg. Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is an omega-3, long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acid that’s crucial for human brain and eye development. It’s especially important during the last trimester of pregnancy and the first few months of an infant’s life when the brain undergoes a rapid growth spurt, increasing significantly in mass and DHA content. Besides accumulating in the brain, DHA is also found in the retinas of eyes and is believed to be important to visual development. Fetal supplies of DHA are dependent on a mother’s intake of this nutrient. If her intake is low, the baby will use her stores. Updated from previous versions, Synergy Prenatal Plus now contains a Probiotic Blend delivering 1 billion CFUs of probiotics including L.acidophillus, B.bifidum and more. Probiotics, also known as “good bacteria,” are bacterial cultures that favorably alter the intestinal microflora balance. They promote healthy digestion and nutrient absorption and may also enhance the body’s natural immune response. Synergy Prenatal Plus also contains a combination of gentle herbal nutrients from lavender flower, lemon balm leaf, peppermint leaf, rosehips (flower) and cloves (bud) which may provide relaxing and soothing benefits for restful sleep and healthy mood as well as overall support for women’s reproductive systems. Synergy Prenatal Plus features high-quality nutrients in optimal forms for better absorption and function within the body. For example, it contains a buffered (non-acidic) form of vitamin C that’s gentler on the stomach, better absorbed by the body and stays in the system longer than other forms of vitamin C. Vitamin D is included as vitamin D3, a superior form of vitamin D that facilitates proper calcium absorption and supports bone health. Zinc is included as L-OptiZinc®, a patented form of methionine-bound zinc that’s better absorbed and retained by the body. Sy nergy Prenatal Plus Multi-Vitamin is ideal for women before, during and after pregnancy. Each daily serving consists of 6 capsules. NSI® Synergy Prenatal Plus Multi-Vitamin is better because it:. • Serves as a comprehensive prenatal multi-vitamin with the added benefits of select nutrients that benefit both mother and developing child throughout pregnancy. • Supplies optimal amounts of key nutrients required during pregnancy such as calcium, iron, folic acid and DHA. Did You Know? All NSI supplements are packaged in HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) bottles. These bottles keep moisture vapor out, protecting the freshness and integrity of their contents, and are 400% more effective compared other brands currently using PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) bottles. HDPE bottles do not break as glass can and are also recyclable so we urge you to please recycle them.

"The only that i disagree with is the content of 400 IU of vitamin D, which is too low to have any effect whatsoever. My fiance takes an extra 4000 IU cap a day, so no worries on that front. Other than that this multi is a great product. Almost a gram of cultured soy (soy is very good for you when cultured), DIM, some berries, a good quantity of calcium (some carbonate, but when pregnant that can help with indigestion and heartburn issues), plus 1 billion probiotics to top it off. I wouldn't refer any other prenatal that i've seen over this one."

"My only complaint about this supplement is that it contains just 400 IU of Vitamin D. New research shows that optimal intake of vitamin D is around 4,000 IU."

"I took this entire bottle and now that I have run out I am noticing some definite mood fluctuations and decreased energy. I am convinced that the ingredients in this product are effective for emotional regulation and support of energy level. With fibromyalgia, asthma, and other health issues, PLUS two toddlers to chase after, I can use all the help I can get - and these really came through for me. I need to re-order soon! Also - they are a great value for what you get."

"I found a warning label on this product advising pregnant or lacting women should consult with a licensed physician and/or pharmacist prior to taking these dietary supplements which is a bit confusing since the product is designed for this purpose. It also requires 6 tablets a day which seems superfluous since Maternal is time released and only requires one tablet a day.

Additionally, I found that this product did not contain several vitamins and minerals or high enough levels based on published studies such as EFA's (EPA & 1000-2,000 mg per day)."
