"I used this shampoo about a year ago, and used the whole bottle so if it needed a 'period of adjustment' it would happen ...but it didn't. Upon first application to wet hair it had an odd feeling when my hair was moving through my fingers and didn't lather that well. On the second application it did a little better but still made my hair feel odd even after rinsing throughly. My hair was clean afterward, had a slight citrus smell, and it did make it shine...but I wasn't satisfied enough to reorder."

"This is a wonderful product for anyone who doesn't use silicones in their haircare routine. Because I only use silicone-free hair products, or products wish water-soluble silicones, this shampoo keeps my hair clean without stripping it. I've read some reviews that claim this shampoo doesn't do the trick. It's sulfate-free, so I imagine it isn't powerful enough to strip away silicones...consider this a nice addition to a natural haircare routine."

"Wow, I thank my lucky stars that I found this product. I have medium thickness-long brown hair, no artificial coloring or lightening, and this product works wonders on it. All natural hair for this all natural shampoo! This shampoo is not thick and therefore is somewhat a puddle in your hand but since you need so little that it's not a problem. The thicker consitency of other products that give them a luxurious feel is from a complex of chemically derived unatural components and actually instigates some types of skin cancers. You can probably read more about this; they are known as xenoestrogens. I am so happy that this shampoo is free of all that junk, and all those propylparabens too. This is the last shampoo I will ever use, my product search has ended. This is the squekiest clean I have ever felt and the conditioner is also awesome! This product smells of fresh oranges when using it- I love this because I also use the Orange Essence facial cleanser from Burt and the Citrus Scrub from Burt. What a combo. Highly recommend this product."

"I'm trying hard to simplify my life, chemical-wise, and changing shampoo & conditioner was a big step because I've always bought the "best" I could find, which translated to the most expensive, and I never would have considered Burt's Bees if I hadn't seen a site where they rate all the ingredients in personal care products in relation to their side effects on our bodies, and this one came out looking pretty good. So, I gave it a try, and there's just no down side. It does the job, leaves my hair really clean with no oily residue. It's also easy to find where some of the others that rated high had limited outlets.
I'm also using the conditioner that goes with this shampoo and like it a lot. I've tried a sample bottle of Burt's Bees body wash, and the smell is a bit too strong, so I'm still searching for the Holy Grail on that one."

"I purchased this shampoo with high hopes. The first week I used it my hair was "adjusting" but it looks great now. I get so many compliments at work that my hair looks so much healthier. I have recommended this product to my co-workers and friends alike. It's comparable in price to most shampoos so it's honestly worth a try. I was not disappointed and have repurchased it since. "ok so the first time i used this shampoo I was at someones house who has hard water. I have just NORMAL hair and within 3 seconds of putting this in my hair i had ONE GIANT KNOT/DREADLOCK. But i figured it was just the hard water so i tried it at my house where there is soft water. It happened again. Squeeky clean indeed! I think the squeeky cleanness comes from the fact that it dries the heck out of your hair in 3 seconds flat. Perfect for anyone who has dreadlocks.....or wants dreadlocks. it stinks because I love burts bees stuff but this stuff is wiggity whack."

"I am on the hunt for the perfect natural shampoo. I like this product, the smell is a bit odd though. My hair feels clean and there is no build up. I have boring hair that I let dry and throw in a ponytail so I never really see if my hair looks nice or not. It always has the ponytail lump in it. It is soft so that's all that matters I guess."
