"I haven't found any supplement that is a miracle worker like NAC -- I researched natural healing remedies and this one bolsters your glutathione like no other and that is the basis of your body's immune system... try it -- it definitely helped me"
"This product has helped my respiratory issues greatly. The odor is bad and if you have to take a lot you will sweat oit the odor. After going back down to 3, 2x/day I didn't smell like this product anymore"
"I wanted to add this supplement to my diet because I have read about numerous studies supporting its helpfulness with varying psychological conditions.
I took it for about two weeks. I didn't notice anything happening in the psychological sense - nor did I expect to in that amount of time. I did however get truly awful gas from it. I also started getting these tiny zit-like things on my body (not on my face), and wondered if it was something from the NAC being expelled through my skin. It could be a coincidence of course. The zit-like things have gone away since I stopped taking it. If I knew for sure the NAC was helping me, I'd suffer those side effects though. Maybe at some point in the future I will try taking it again (I bought 2 bottles) though I doubt it.
The research on NAC is promising, but I think its still in its infancy and we really don't know enough about it yet."
"The formula has changed over the years that I have been taking this. I used to love the product, now I'm looking for another brand. Just can't stand the new odor any longer... I believe another brand can still give me the great benefits of this product without having to cope with the smell."
"This product has great potential but the smell really is unbearable. Also, please remove the magnesium stearate. I prefer Doctor's Best brand as it doesn't have that in there. It's a bit more expensive but I'm willing to pay for a better quality."
"if you like the overpowering smell of rotten eggs and the strong taste of sulfur all the way down this is for you, last time to order vitacost brand on this one, other brands do not have this smell and taste"
"I've never had a problem with any Vitacost product until I purchased N-Acetyl Cysteine. Upon opening the bottle, an extremely unpleasant odor came wafting out. I called Vitacost to inquire if this odor was to be expected with this supplement and they said they weren't aware of any specific issue with it.
They gave me a refund and suggested I try a different brand if I still was interested in the product. I've read so many good articles about the benefits of N-Acetyl Cysteine I'm still anxious to give it a try. I just can't get past the unpleasant odor."
