"Like a dummy I bought this product after only looking at the first page of reviews (which were almost all 5 stars and raved about "no fishy taste.") I was very disappointed to find that this stuff does NOT taste like lemon and in fact leaves a STRONG fish flavor in the mouth. You have to swallow something else (drink, food, etc.) to get rid of it. Don't spill this stuff on your hands or clothes! I will be going back to the small-size gel capsules even though taking 4 at once is a hassle."

"Ugh. I bought this to put in a spoonful of applesauce for my son. I had previously used fish oil capsules that I pierced and used but I thought the oil would be easier. My son could barely choke it down and when I tasted it I nearly gagged, it was so fishy awful tasting. It also didn't smell fresh at all. I expect more from NSI."

"My son takes this stuff and he has to pinch his nose, pour it down his throat, and chase it with some food. I tasted it and the lemony flavor is good but once you get past that, the fish taste isn't the greatest. It's hard to say if the fish oil is effective b/c you can't see what it's doing to your body but overall I'm pleased with it. I think we'll have to stick with the pill form in the future."

Yes, the taste is very fishy, so you probably do want to stay away if this bothers you. I found that gargling a bit of mouthwash right after taking this washes the fishy taste away (which is part of my morning routine anyway)."

"product is ok. better than the non mega oil from NSI, but the last inch left i the bottle is not for human consumption...its a pretty nasty residue with pretty bad taste/texture. however the top of the bottle is ok. BUT there is better...try Carlson oils...really fresh product, good taste. my kids (3yrs) love it and since we switched to this product I too will take a spoonful :)"

"I've tried taking plain cod liver oil and couldn't stomach it at all. The lemon flavoring in this formula masks the fish taste just enough that I can swallow it, and the smaller serving size helps too. I do have to follow it with something that has some flavor to get the taste out of my mouth (not a spoonful of sugar!). However the advantages of getting these nutrients into my system without taking dozens of pills in liquid form so they are absorbed better far outweighs any momentary unpleasantness. Good job NSI!"
