A highly bioavailable form of the mineral magnesium! Supports bone health and healthy heart rhythm. How Does NSI® Magnesium Citrate work? Magnesium citrate is one of the most easily digested and readily absorbed forms of magnesium available. It's created by bonding magnesium carbonate to natural citric acid, resulting in enhanced bioavailability. Magnesium is a mineral significant in a variety of functions in the body, including energy production, proper nerve function, muscle relaxation, blood health, regulation of heart rhythm and maintenance of healthy teeth and bones. It's also plays a part in more than 300 enzymatic reactions in the body and helps regulate calcium, copper, zinc, iron, potassium and vitamin D levels. It's estimated that the majority of Americans may not be getting enough magnesium through diet, as many processed foods and bottled water do not contain this mineral. Excessive consumption of coffee, soda and salt, and chronic stress, can also lead to depleted levels. Signs of magnesium deficiency include fatigue, headaches, backaches, muscle/body tension, difficulty sleeping, irritability, nervousness, and more. Muscle spasms, cramps and jerks can also be indications of deficiency and may decrease with supplementation. NSI® Magnesium Citrate delivers 400 mg of magnesium per serving. Because magnesium may have a laxative effect, it's best to consume small dosages over the course of the day. NSI® Magnesium Citrate is better because it:. Is a more readily-available and usable form of magnesium. Provides 400 mg of magnesium in just two capsules daily. . Did You Know? All NSI supplements are packaged in HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) bottles. These bottles keep moisture vapor out, protecting the freshness and integrity of their contents, and are 400% more effective compared other brands currently using PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) bottles. HDPE bottles do not break as glass can and are also recyclable so we urge you to please recycle them.

"The previous time I bought this product the pills were small, sleek and easy to swallow. This time they are horse pills and I don't like them as well but I have no complaint about the effectiveness of the magnesium. Next time I will look for a capsule which is easier to swallow and absorb."

"I test my Magnesium serum levels monthly. I switched from Mag Oxide to Mag Citrate [both 500mg caps 3x daily] believing the hype of better absorption. In a six month trial my mag levels dropped from an avg of 2.0 to an avg of 1.7 with the citrate! [range is 1.7-2.3 mg/dl] I have returned to oxide and my levels also returned to 2.0. You can save $$ by testing yourself to see if Mag Oxide is as good as Mag Citrate."

"I was a bit disappointed when I received these because I hadn't noticed that you must take 2 tablets to get the 400mg serving mentioned on the label and order page. The mg per tablet should be more obvious, but that's marketing for you. The tablets are on the large size but manageable. It would be great if they were capsules like most of the other NSI magnesium products. I had to drop value and satisfaction ratings for those reasons and give it 3 1/2 stars."

"I have been using magnesium citrate for back spasm for years and it works very well. The other types of magnesium is not as effective. The capsules were terrific.
However, I noticed that this latest batch is no longer in a capsule and is a hard tablet instead. I am concerned about how easy it is to absorb now. My satisfaction was rated lower due to this change."

"I can't believe you sell this form of Magnesium as a mineral supplement. Magnesium citrate is a chemical agent used medicinally as a saline laxative and to empty the bowel prior to a surgery or colonoscopy. Magnesium citrate works by attracting water through the tissues by a process known as osmosis. Once in the intestine, it can attract enough water into the intestine to induce defecation. It will give you diahhrea. It did me."

"I take this supplement religiously, using it even with my multi-vitamin supplement (NSI Synergy Women's) due to its superior bioavailability. No one should go without taking magnesium. The life of your cells depend on stores of magnesium to balance the Na, Ca, and chloride that pumps in and out of the cell. This is a great product at a great price. Do some reading on magnesium and you will see how important it is."
