"I had really hoped that my two cats would like this product because I wanted the benefit of flax with the added possiblity of cutting back on hairball gel use.
But so far everytime I've mixed it with their favorite food, they've snubbed the entire bowl. I've tried to add it just a little bit at a time, but the dispenser top makes that difficult; either none comes out or, oops, way too much comes out. I need to use an eye dropper instead, and the extra cleanup makes it just not worth it. For now I've gone back to just adding ground flax seeds to their food at the same time I add it to my cereal. One product with two uses was easier for me than fumbling with the Barlean's Flax Oil bottle. It was worth a try; but unless I can figure out how to get the cats to eat it, I won't be buying it again.
If your pet likes the taste, I would recommend using this product, as it's ingredients are nicely formulated for pets. However, if they won't eat it, it's not going to do much good sitting on a refrigerator shelf. (And, yes, I always warm their food before giving it to them, so the temperature was not the problem.)"

""This oil is a wonderful supplement for dogs." I have three dogs, and two suffer from severe dry skin. My Pomerian and Pekinese love this oil mixed with their food once a day. I find it beneficial to mix it with a small amount of food, therefore it is all eaten at one sitting. This oil has an effect on the dry skin within about 5 days. I recommend this oil for dogs of any size. A friend of mine is a Chow Chow Breeder and she also gives this to her Chow once a day mixed in their food."
