"This product tastes salty and is unpleasant. It also is difficult to get to dissolve with some powder always left on the bottom. i much prefer Peters product and will order that next time. If you can afford it go with Peters if not this stuff still works if you can get it down."

"This product tastes and works okay, but it does NOT dissolve well at all, so I much prefer the name brand. I do not like chalky taste/texture, and it takes much longer to dissolve even in super hot/boiling water, whereas the other product I have used dissolved immediately with no grains left, in hot tap water. That said, if the cost difference is a huge factor for you buy it. But I won't buy it again."

"It works..but it was way too salty. I prefer the Naturally Calm by Peter Gillham. They are both equally effective in helping me relax at the end of the day and getting some good sleep. Does anyone know why they add the sodium. Seems more like an electrolyte thing to me."

"Having used Peter Gilham's Calm for quite some time, this product seemed like a less expensive alternative. We gave it a try but it turned out to be too gritty, leaving undissolved powder at the bottom of the cup. This was never a problem with Peter Gilham's formula, but I understand that, in addition to magnesium, there are also some additional ingredients in this formula.
It is hard to say whether or not this product is better or worse than Peter Gilham's, but we prefer Peter Gilham's Calm to this NSI brand. You may wish to give it a try to see for yourself. It is not intolerable; it has a pleasant flavor but it's just different than what we are used to drinking."

"I have used Peter Gilham's Natural Calm for several years and thought I would try this product as it is one half the price of what I was paying. I was disappointed to the extent that I reordered the Natural Calm I had been using. The product is too heavy and has other additives besides magnesium. It is like swallowing some heavy chalk substance."

"This is an acceptable supplement and has a nice flavor. It seems to be less potent than the name brand. I thought the nice large container would last longer than the smaller name brand one, but it didn't. Hot water must be added to this supplement which makes it inconvenient for me, and it does not mix completely. I like the nutrient formulation very well, though. The name brand only has Magnesium, or has Calcium and other nutrients added. I will likely purchase this product again, simply because I like the formulation. It isn't as good a deal as I had originally hoped for, though."

"I have been using the more expensive brand for a couple of years and wanted to try the NSI for the price. The taste is good, but there is a chalky residue which did not bother me too much. "Why not spend a couple more bucks and get the 20 year researched Peter Gillham's Natural Calm? This one didn't dissolve as well and I can't figure out why sodium and potassium are added. Potassium has potential stimulatory effects for certain individuals and can negate w/falling and staying asleep. Also potassium's job is to remove sodium from the cells so I don't understand the added sodium. This seems contradictory for lowering one's BP."
