NSI Evening Primrose Oil with GLA -- 1300 mg - 300 Softgels

NSI Evening Primrose Oil with GLA -- 1300 mg - 300 Softgels

Supports decreased inflammation and helps your metabolism. Available in either 500 mg or 1,300 mg. How does Evening Primrose Oil work? Evening Primrose Oil is derived from the seeds of the North American Evening Primrose plant, a perennial found in North America. Many Native American tribes used the plant as a source of food. The evening primrose plant contains an essential fatty acid called gamma linolenic acid (GLA). The body does not produce essential fatty acids therefore this supplement must be ingested through food and supplementation. GLA is rich in PGE1 prostaglandins: these promote healthy skin and overall hormone balance and reduced inflammation in the body. NSI Evening Primrose Oil is better because it:. Is expeller-pressed, ensuring you a pure, hexane-free formula. Costs less than major brands, yet gives you with the maximum potency. Did You Know? All NSI supplements are packaged in HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) bottles. These bottles keep moisture vapor out, protecting the freshness and integrity of their contents, and are 400% more effective compared other brands currently using PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) bottles. HDPE bottles do not break as glass can and are also recyclable so we urge you to please recycle them.

"Nice to find this high of mg's at a reasonable price, but these capsules are huge! At least they are soft, so they do go down."

Works great on diaper rashes, October 20, 2009
By LoveyV from NC

"I bought this product for my children's diaper rashes. Works wonders on taking the sting out. Just open the capsule and squeeze it on like you would diaper cream. I love this for myself as well! I don't know what those people were talking about saying it had low GLA levels...they must have read the label wrong!"

Unexpected benefit, July 12, 2009
By PhilosophicalCat from Japan

"I began taking this to reduce PMS symptoms. It seemed to reduce breast tenderness and some cramps, but it seemed to increase the puffy lower belly feeling. That could just be my particular reaction. I found the very large pill to be surprisingly easy to swallow, and I had no problems with burps, aftertaste, or indigestion. I was not watching for improvements with nails, hair, or skin, but did notice these improvements - particularly with the elimination of dry skin and hangnails around the nails.
In addition, I noticed a completely unexpected side-effect. I've suffered for years from peeling lips (almost certainly a persistent fungus infection), but with EPO I found that the peeling became gentler, with lip skin returning to it's former moistness, softness and flexibility. It did not stop the peeling, but the skin came off without tearing the lips and making them bleed. Although no one has mentioned dry lip skin here, it would be interesting to see if others do experience an improvement in lip skin. It might sound trivial, but there is nothing attractive about dry, chapped, and often bleeding lips. Plus, being exposed to all the bacteria and other debris in the mouth, having healthy skin on the lips is one less weak point in the immune system.
Others have pointed out the relatively low GLA content of these capsules in this brand. However, I think the GLA level is sufficient to improve health. The price is excellent.

"This oil is very good tasting so next time I'm going to buy the liquid. I can't see any need for it to be inside a thick gelatin capsule."

PUFFY EYES ARE GONE, February 20, 2009
By Eastwind from Orlando, FL

"Evening Primrose is the best stuff for puffy eyes. After years of trying products to reduce puffy eyes, I found this. I take 3/day internally. I also take an additional pill and use a straight pin to puncture the capsule and squirt in a small dish and spread all over my face and around my eyes after washing before bed. I had good results with this regiem when I took 2 caps during the day, but adding an additional one (internally) at bedtime was the thing that made this the perfect remedy. I then began adding a little to my daily facial moisturizer and eye cream (had some left over from the night before) and another full pill to my daily body moisurizer. The results have been fabulous. My mother always told me that Evening Primrose was good for your skin, but you know how us daughters are... Wish I had listened to her earlier. Beautiful skin to you!"

Thank goodness, February 3, 2009
By TaniaK from Fl

"I had been meaning to try this for years to help w/ severe pms, but didnt. What a dummy i was! It took about 3 months to get levels to where they needed to be with me to help with this. I would say it is nothing short of a miracle.- Also I discovered that it also enriches hair & nails- which it does. i just didnt question why my hair and nails looked great. now i know."

Very good, January 16, 2009
By veryluckygal from california

"I take this for acne and use this on my face as well. Since taking this, I have noticed a 20% reduction in sebum production. I also use this as a moisturizer at night. Evening Primrose Oil is an anti-inflammatory and will work to dilute oil, so it does not clog your pores. I wake up with very nice skin."

Reduces hot flashes, December 11, 2008
By StoneTramp from Santa Cruz, California

"I really experienced how well this works to reduce hot flashes when I went without them for a month while traveling. The flashes came back with a vengeance! Returned to taking two 1300 mg capsules a day, 1 am, 1 pm, and my hot flashes are reduced to occasional warm flushes. No side effects."
