Nice energy boost, September 18, 2009
By SSullivan from Ohio

"Since eliminating caffeine and also going through chemoradiation this year, my energy levels were the pits. This product truly does energize you without jitters, and really fights the fatigue that I suffered with as a cancer patient. Even now in recovery, I love it for the feeling of energy and well-being."

American Ginseng is "Xi Yang Shen" in TCM, January 18, 2008
By GnosticHerbalist from San Diego, CA

"西洋参 xī yáng shēn, "foreign western root" is the chinese name given to this herb that is highly prized by the Chinese for its nourishing qualities.

American Ginseng is much more 'yin' than its eastern counterparts. It is not considered warming, but neutral or cooling and nourishes fluids.

This herb is better for dry climates or for people with dryness problems (yin deficiency). Be careful taking this herb in cold climates or with damp environments and especially if you feel cold as is.

Whereas the Eastern Ginseng (Korean, etc) is more warming and for colder climates. Be careful taking Eastern Ginseng in hot climates and with hot constitutions, this can cause bad reactions.
