Jarrow Formulas Organic Coconut Oil -- 16 oz (454 g)

Rich in Medium Chain Triglycerides No Trans Fatty Acids (TFAs) - No Hydrogenation. Suitable for Vegans Jarrow Formulas® Organic Coconut Oil (Cocus nucifera) is expeller-pressed from the fresh flesh (copra) of the coconut palm, and does not utilize any solvents in the manufacturing process. Coconut oil is a rich source of Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs), such as lauric acid (C-12) and caprylic acid (C-8). Lauric acid is used to synthesize Monolaurin, an immune-supporting monoglyceride. MCTs offer a rapid source of energy, since they are directly transported into the liver without going through the lymphatic circulation. Coconut oil is stable even during long periods of storage.

"This product is great and it is pure for anyone with allergies or perfume sensitivities. You can use it to cook, for your skin or your hair (although I would not use the same jar for cooking and skin care). If you have a problem with excess dry skin a little of this after a shower relieves itchiness, and is not as greasy as one would expect. I use it to massage into my hair and scalp, which makes my hair shiny. I leave it overnight then wash it in the morning. I saw this same product at a health food store for 3 times the price! Will purchase again."

"I just purchased two jars of coconut oil for the purpose of keep my skin moist. Now, both bathrooms have it, and whether I just washed my hands or took a shower--I put it on, and for the kids it works great. "I use this as a moisturizer - a little goes a long way and has a nice scent. Occasionally mix in with protein shake. Have used it for cooking does not add any distracting flavors. Great price."

"This is made from Copra not from fresh coconuts but instead dried, which apparently loses some of the beneficial properties. I'm sticking with Nature's Way or Nutiva for the extra few cents per ounce."

"I have been using coconut oil for a couple of years now, and I've been using the Nutiva brand mostly. I was looking to find a coconut oil that didn't have the coconut flavor, but was still organic and not over processed, in order to appease my son who can't stand the coconut flavor. This fits the bill. Now I can still use a healthful oil when cooking, and my son will eat it. Two thumbs up!"

"Recently visited Jamaica and learned the healing properties for skin and digesting this oil for optimum health. Taste great in cooking and even in hot drinks like coffee or tea. Helps lower cholestrol, no trans fat and brings balance back to trigylcerines. Need this on the shelves at the grocery stores in U.S. Ever ask yourself why Carribbean people look so healthy? They use this also for massages and skin moisturizer and cooking fish and seafood dishes with sweet rice. YUMMM!"

"This is another product you need one for the kitchen and one for household use.

Not only is this good for cooking and frying but we use coconut oil as skin moisturizer and hair conditioner for leave-in and deep conditioning. Try rubbing some on your feet and elbows and you won't believe the results!"

"I use this for cooking for all oil, greasing and buttering puposes. I also find it great for showering and using it as a moisterizer in the shower. Leaving my skin moisterized and soft. No, lotion needed after the shower once used. Doesn't smell and can't taste it in cooking with it. For the amount you get and for the multi puposes you can use this product is simply a must buy!"

"Decent product and probably better than olive oil for frying, but falls waaaayyyy short of the taste and quality of the good stuff. The neutral flavor of this product is touted as a good thing, but I didn't enjoy it. It fact it didn't sit quite right on my stomach either. Do NOT use this for popcorn! For my money I'll stick to Organic Extra Virgin by Nutiva. It's well worth the cost."
