Inhibits Nitric Oxide Radicals. Mixed Tocopherol Complex. Gamma E 300 contains Gamma Tocopherol, one of the eight members of the vitamin E family found concentrated in plant seeds and vegetable oils. Typical Vitamin E supplements only offer d-alpha tocopherol, which has been shown to deplete serum gamma tocopherol and alpha tocotrienol. Gamma tocopherol is especially protective against reactive nitrogen species which damage lipids, proteins and DNA, inside the body, gamma tocopherol is found in high concentrations in the skin, muscle and venous tissue. Each softgel contains more gamma tocopherol than a kiligram of pecans, pistachios or walnuts.

"In the 16 years I have been researching and evaluating vitamin products, I have evaluated more vitamin E products than any other type of supplement (except for multi-vitamins).
And of all the forms of vitamin E, "Gamma" Tocopherol is perhaps the most important for cardiovascular, brain, prostate and immune system health.
With that said, I feel that Jarrow Formulas Gamma E 300 is "slightly above average".
The biggest drawback is that they use Soybean Oil as the fat-soluble delivery system.
Soybean Oil is highly prone to oxidation caused by light / oxygen / heat exposure.
This may cause the Soybean Oil to quickly "oxidize", thus using up some of the vitamin E used in this product...which means less for your body by the time you consume it.
I would highly recommend you use either Life Extension Foundation's "Gamma E Tocopherol with Sesame Lignans" (THE BEST Gamma E product available...see my review for this product) - or A.C. Grace's Tocopherol formula.
If you are on a very strict budget, Jarrow Formulas' "Gamma E 300" is alright...but could be better.

"Jarrow products are almost always where they need to be. I weightlift a lot, so im sure i have a lot of nitric radicals floating around. These nice formulation of E has lots of the gamma form, which helps to neutralize them."

"If you're looking at this you probably already know that the Gamma Tocopherol form of E is the one associated with heart benefits, not the alpha form everyone seems to take. I like to take both, and I get the alpha from Source Natural's Advanced One multiple, but I supplement with this very affordable and good quality Gamma E to get the heart benefits. But between you and me, if I could afford Source Natural's Gamma E I would be taking that - I think that one's the best. And no, I don't work for Source Naturals or know anyone who does (!)"
