"Deceptive in it's name...cod liver oil? Euuuu! Must be gross! But in fact, the lemon flavor is surprisingly good. So good in fact, that I put a teaspoon into my kids other juices to make "lemonade" juice and they beg me for it. I also mix it into my kefir in the morning or into my tomato juice in the afternoon....both of which they also beg me for and consume. Yes, 5 and 2 1/2 year old kids willingly consuming cod liver oil. If they will eat it, how bad can it be?"

Truly Palatable, June 30, 2009
By suizou from Portland, OR

"Have to admit I'm not as strict with my own supplements as I am with my dogs, so I can't give an accurate read on on its effects. However, I can tell you that it truly is as palatable as everyone claims. I pop mine in a cup followed by orange juice."

Great For Knees, June 12, 2009
By CodLover from Illinois

"I have been using this product for years and appreciate it working on my knees. They do not creek or hurt nearly as much as they used to. Plus, it is great for my heart and circulatory system. I do not have to take any prescription medication to feel relief. One time I ran out and within three days, my knees were really hurting. Once I got back on this product, I felt so much better again!"

"I really hated taking omega 3 supplements and the fishy burps that came along with them. I always woke up burping, gross tasting burps. Not anymore, this is a refreshing lemon flavor, it just tastes like lemon oil. I take it to help my hair and skin as well as my joints! I love it, I will continue to buy!"

"Excellent source of natural Vit D and A. unlike many other cod liver oil sources, this has the natural Vit A and D left in. Many manufacturers remove the natural vitamins, probably because the amounts vary, and then add synthetic versions in precise amounts. Thank you for carrying it!"

"I was pleasantly surprised at the taste of the Cod Liver Oil. I was dreading taking it, but a friend told me about this Carlson Norwegian Cod Liver Oil Lemon Flavor. I'm taking it for overall health benefits and to keep the arteries clean. I was not having any health issues so I don't feel any different. I mix it with my liquid vitamins, although it's fine by itself. I would only suggest buying the lemon flavored."

Say goodbye to JOINT PAIN w/cod liver oil, May 13, 2009

"We got this because my husband had (past tense!) regular joint pain in his knees. Sometimes one knee or the other, often after working out, or just walking on concrete. He takes just under 1 tablespoon a day and within the first two days his daily/chronic knee pain was gone. He also ices his knees with ice packs after workouts and rubs arnica gel on them too. We highly recommend arnica gel, but this cod liver oil is definitely the new secret weapon to more fully vanquish his knee pain. He still will get a flash of pain maybe once a week that the oil has not fixed - yet? We are so grateful, and pleasantly surprised. I found too that I can go on very long walks without having foot or ankle soreness the next day due to the fish oil, where in the past I would feel soreness. I take 1 teaspoon daily, or every other day. The lemon flavor does help, I imagine, though I have never taken it without lemon. It took my husband a few wks to get used to the taste but now he says he likes it. It is a daily essential for him now. I read that it's cheaper to order it like this vs. gel caps so that's why we do it, plus it seems that Carlson is the highest quality, but I'm no expert on that. By the way I ordered this due to reading customer reviews on this site, so thanks guys for the helpful info!"

No fish, just lemon, April 1, 2009

"I cannot swallow capsules and I hate fish so the thought of putting cod liver oil into anything sounded repulsive. Happily, I do not taste any fishy taste with this and just have a lemon aftertaste. I am grateful."

"This used to be a good Cod Liver Oil supplement until they removed most of the vitamin A because of an unfounded fear of this wonderful vitamin. Removing the vitamin A creates an inequality between vitamin A & D, making both vitamins function less optimally. As a chiropractor and a board certified clinical nutritionist, I no longer recommend this supplement."

"I am not a fish eater. I never thought I would drink cod liver oil on a daily basis. After a naturopathic doctor suggested that I start taking a daily dose, I began using Carlson Cod Liver Oil. I won't say that it tastes great, but it certainly is non-offensive and leave a nice lemon aftertaste in my mouth. I have taken Carlson's for about six months and will continue indefinately. It's a nice way to get my daily omega-3 dose."

"I bought this oil based on a suggestion from a friend who heard about cod liver oil and it's health benefits. My husband loves the lemon flavor so much, he exclaims "YUM!" with each spoonful! My 2 kids and I take it mixed in with a little pomegranate juice, and it's delicious. My kids remind me if I forgot to give it to them!"
