Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice Root Extract. Protects Stomach Lining & Intestinal Wall. Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice (DGL) is a safe and effective licorice extract. It is specially processed to have glycyrrhizin removed to avoid potential side effects such as elevated blood pressure. DGL improves the integrity of the natural mucus lining of the stomach and intestinal wall. It stimulates the protective factors which guard against weaknesses in these linings. "I started taking DGL for ulcer-like pain I developed after dental surgery (perhaps the effects of pain killers). Since then, I've tried several renditions of DGL and this one--for taste and effectiveness--is now my first choice. Taste is really individual, so it's worth trying around for what suits your palette."

"I suffer from gastritis and have tried several supplements and medications. DGL licorice from natural factors works really well, better than other brands, probably because it doesn't have any additives that could potentially irritate my stomach. if you have gastritis, you will probably need to take it with another supplement as it won't work do the trick on its own, but it is a great product and i highly recommend it.it has given me great relief"

"This is not the best tasting DGL but it works much better than other DGLs brands I've tried at a lower cost. Once you get used to the taste, it's great."

"The taste is very strong, does not taste like the old licorice candies used to. I recommend sucking on these, not chewing as directed. The only reason I would not recommend these is the taste, capsules are probably better."

"This DGL is a good product and works fine but the flavor does take a while to get used to although I do love licorice. I will finish the bottle but will not purchase it again solely based on the flavor."
