"Optimum Nutrition Whey Gold Standard Vanilla Ice Cream is the best Whey product I have used to date. I have used many Whey products; Optimum Nutrition tastes the best. It mixes well in milk or water. I add it to my protein shakes every morning. I order from Vitacost often. I am very satisfied with the product and the service that Vitacost provides. Would recommend to anyone searching for an excellent Whey product at a great price from Vitacost.com"

"I tried the vanilla, but it has no taste. I drink it more for the nutritional aspect rather than the taste. Usaully i carry it to the gym and sip it instead of water."

Great tasting, September 9, 2009
By Twistedwrister from NC

"In my non-expert opinion, I think this powder is a great supplement to regular meals. Easy mixing. Great tasting. From what it says, quality ingredients. At my age (47) I felt I was losing the ability to gain or retain size. This supplement seems to help me reach my goal."

Great but expensive, July 18, 2009

"The best protein shakes I've had but also the most expensive I've ever bought. Smooth, not chalky, and no residual sandiness you get with cheaper proteins. Great flavor!"

heathier for men, July 14, 2009
By DoctorFit

"I have been using shake meal replacement for years, however, most of the mixes that claim to be meal replacements are using soy in them. I know that soy has too much estrigen in it for men, and add to a displeasing taste. I found Optimum Nutrition Whey and knew I had found a winner. The taste of the Vanilla Ice Cream is wonderful even though it "may be" a little sweet to some. Personally, I like some sweetness because I add berries and bananas etc. to create great healthy food shakes to start the day.
I certainly do recomend that you start your day with less fat and butter too. Your body will thank you for doing so. Most people think I'm in my early fifties, when I'm actually sixty-six.
Use it after a good workout, and watch the muscle grow and the fat fall off.
There are other great flavors too, so pick a favorate, and get started toward better health.

Great with Milk, February 15, 2009
By hubris1 from Indianapolis, IN

"This is my second tub of the Vanilla Ice Cream. I use it with skim milk in the blender. Does not work well with cold water in the shaker cup. It dissolves well but Vanilla Ice Cream flavored water is not the best. I will try a different flavor with my next order. From an overall Whey review the Optimum Nutrition product is by far the best from a taste standpoint that I've used. I will continue to use their products."

SWIMMER, January 30, 2009
By Swimmeryeah from GA

"Amazing, everything you need. Swimmers only really need the protien and BCAA this product has. Muscle Milk has a whole bunch of other useless stuff swimmers don't need and urinate out anyway. This is 24g protien a scoop. For muscle milk its two scoops. So this whey product you know ur getting the most out of everything"

Awesome, January 27, 2009
By Jake1 from Philadelphia, PA

"I love this stuff. It gives me an energy boost before I lift. I also drink it right after runnining/cardio. It works great in a berry smoothie or just mixed with almond milk if I'm pressed for time. I noticed a difference in my physique and energy level and will continue to use this product and have recommended it to friends."

Great Product, December 15, 2008
By merr from Colorado

"This is my 2nd time to buy the vanilla ice cream flavor. I thought I would only like the chocolate but using the vanilla ice cream is so much more versatile. By adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream whey, 1 heaping tsp. dutch processed cocoa powder, 1 splenda pkt, 1 tbsp powdered nonfat milk, 1 tsp instant coffee to 1 cup water and some ice cubes, I have a delicious protein drink. Sometimes I also add blueberries or 2 tbsp of chunky peanut butter. Next time I'm going to try some diet orange soda or diet cola. Tip: Sometimes I feel lazy about all the ingredients so I mix up batches in empty/cleaned plastic medicine bottles and each one is a shake ready to add to the water and ice. Enjoy"

Best Protein Pwder, November 28, 2008
By HollywoodMom from California

"Optimum Nutrition 100% Gold Standard Whey Protein is not gritty and does not upset my stomache. It has more protein per scoop than most others. I mix it with frozen strawberries, a banana and water and it is great. I've tried a lot of protein powders and this one is the one I prefer."

Best Protein Out There!, November 15, 2008
By Mechasam from Tampa, FL

"This is probably the best-mixing, best-quality, best-priced protein on the market today. I just mix it with water first thing in the morning, after workouts, and sometimes in between meals, and it mixes perfectly -- no clumping and no gross taste. This particular flavor (vanilla ice cream) seemed like a watered-down version of vanilla, in my opinion. I'm not exactly sure what makes this flavor specifically vanilla "ice cream," but whatever -- I just mix it with water, anyways. I personally prefer the regular vanilla and the cookies and cream flavors, but I'm not picky.

This is a great addition to your workouts, especially if you're doing some heavy lifting. Easy on the stomach and high quality.
