Promotes a Healthy Nervous System. Benefits of Coenzymated™ Sublingual Vitamins. In order for vitamins to be utilized by the body they must first be converted into their active coenzyme forms. This Coenzymated™ sublingual B-6 goes directly into your bloodstream in its active form ready to go to work immediately. This avoids the loss that may occur not only during digestion but during the liver's conversion process as well. Pyridoxal-5'-Phosphate (PLP or P-5'-P) is the main metabolically active coenzyme form of vitamin B-6. It is primarily in the liver that P-5'-P is synthesized from pyridoxine with the help of enzymes that require B-2 zinc and magnesium for their activity. P-5'-P is associated with numerous enzymes many of which are involved in the conversion of amino acids into the neurotransmitters dopamine norepinephrine and serotonin. P-5'-P is also required for the synthesis of the hemoglobin molecule.
"This is the best p-5-p version of coenzyme B6 I have used. Tried capsules, other brands (several). Nothing comes close. I use it with 1000mg C, 100mg Taurine, B complex (preferably all or mostly coenzyme), high-dose folic acid or pre-converted folate + Glutamine. Combo helps keep GABA up &/or from diminishing. The Source Naturals coenzymated B6 seems to have a mild calming effect by itself, however --make sure to take it with folic acid at least; surprised it's not included in lozenge. Keep a breath mint around or something to cut off the strong B taste (seems B6 is a big part of vitamin B complexes' famous odor). Do not be fooled by the "mint" flavor suggested on the label; the lozenge tastes nasty, but it dissolves faster than most of Source Natural's other lozenges and I am able to tolerate a bad taste for short time --it is easy to get rid of, unlike some aftertastes that stick around. Overall a Great product at a phenomenal price."
"I have tried other brands and even Source Natural's 100mg. This is the only one I have found that I can completely absorb. This is very important for me, being one of those people who can't utilize regular B6."
"Be warned! This product contains wheat and gluten. Although it declares these 2 offensive ingredients on its back label, to unwary buyer like me, it was late. I developed a rash right shortly taking it. I wish I had bought other brands instead."
"A good product, but this sublinqual takes too long to dissolve. Will go back to capsule or pill form when I finish this bottle. Quality is good, from a trusted provider, but a bit inconvenient when you have several supplements to take and have to wait around for this to dissolve."
"The taste isn't great, but it only takes a couple of minutes to dissolve & if you want the best benefit from a b6 supplement, you will get used to the taste. this goes very well with folic acid to help potentiate amino acids like glutamine. also seems to have a slight calming effect."
"Yuch! Ordered for my husband, these tablets, NOT dots, took a long time to dissolve under the tongue. This, in itself, isn't a bad thing as a slow absorption is the most beneficial. However, the taste was horrible."
