NSI Folic Acid -- 1000 mcg - 200 Capsules

Folic acid is a B vitamin needed for cell replication and growth. Folic acid helps form building blocks of DNA (the body's genetic information), and building blocks of RNA (needed for protein synthesis in all cells). Therefore, rapidly growing tissues, such as those of a fetus, and rapidly regenerating cells, like red blood cells and immune cells, have a high need for folic acid. Folic acid deficiency results in a form of anemia that responds quickly to folic acid supplementation. Folic acid also promotes healthy homocysteine levels, essential for heart health. Unless otherwise advised by your doctor, it is generally advised to take vitamin B12 with folic acid, because folic acid has the potential of hiding a vitamin B12 deficiency. Did You Know? "I have been on 1 mg Folic Acid for years which I have got through my pharmacy. At one point insurance picked up the cost but then they stopped. 20 pills would cost me $11. I spoke to my Doctor and send him the info off the page asking if these were as good as fron the pharmacy and he said they were fine. I got 400 pills for $10 and do not have worry about the pharmacy any more. Why should the pharmacy make $130 a year from me for less than $10."

"I have IBD and when I started taking Asacol to deal with my IBD (I have pan-colitis) I started losing my hare LOTS of it. After much research I was able to find that this medication sucks all the folic acid out of your body. I take between 2 to 4 mg a day ( I ramped up to be safe) and now my hair is back like I was in my 20's also my nails grow like I was a teenager! I noticed my nails slow down in thier growth per month after I passed 30.
a MUST buy if you take ASACOL for IBD!"
