NSI Alpha Lipoic Acid & Acetyl L-Carnitine -- 60 Capsules

May promote a healthy nervous system, memory and cardiovascular function. Alpha lipoic acid (ALA), known as the universal antioxidant, is present in almost all tissues of the body. It plays an important role in generating energy from food and oxygen in mitochondria (the power plants of cells). ALA is both water- and fat-soluble, meaning it can easily cross cell membranes, and may provide both interior and exterior cellular free radical protection. Acetyl L-carnitine (ALC) is the acetyl ester of the amino acid L-carnitine and is similar in form to the amino acid L-carnitine. It's absorbed into the bloodstream more efficiently than L-carnitine and passes more easily through cell membranes and is utilized more efficiently in the mitochondria of the cell. ALC assists in the transport of fat through the cell membrane and into the mitochondria of the cell, where fats are oxidized to produce the cellular energy ATP. ALC also promotes a healthy nervous system and supports memory. Did You Know? All NSI supplements are packaged in HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) bottles. These bottles keep moisture vapor out, protecting the freshness and integrity of their contents, and are 400% more effective compared other brands currently using PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) bottles. HDPE bottles do not break as glass can and are also recyclable so we urge you to please recycle them.

"When I take this product, I can tell that it is doing something for my liver, and my belly fat. I am not sure that I can explain it, But I can tell by excretion. Spill out some of the contents if you are prone to insomnia, as I am. ;)"

"Most of it seems to go out with the urine. I think Acetyl L Carnitine is worth taking, but can't say that this combo did anything for me. You have to wonder when most of it is excreted out (the ALA)."

"My Doctor recomended this product, alphalipoic acid&acetyl L-carnitine HCL. i don't know what it is supposed to help,i think it has some effect on nerve pain. but every time i take it, it makes my stomach feel like a grenade has gone off in my stomach, it is a tremendous upset stomach feeling. even if i take it with a banana or some other food. if you folks have any recomendations or some other combination of this mix. please let me know."

"I used to take separate ALA and Acetyl L-Carnitine. I have not taken so much mg. as this products has in a day.

The ALA dosage must be too high for me, since I experienced that my sugar goes to low and I palpitate.

Its better to have them in separate tablets, so if one just wants to increase or decrease the other it would be possible.

If you still want the combination and dosage be sure it fits your current state of health."

"I had been taking this product for a couple of years & noticed it degraded into a yellowish color with swollen capsules after it had been opened awhile so in November I bought the 60 tab instead of the 240 tab bottle only to discover that all of the capsules were yellow & swollen upon opening which creeped me out. I stopped taking them & have not noticed any difference in my weight or health."

"You know what's funny, I buy this stuff because a friend recommends it, or I really love the articles in the NSI booklet that comes with my orders. Then I go back to write a review and realize that exactly what it was supposed to do, it DOES! I have noticed a much more improved memory, and I'm only on my 2nd bottle, or is it my 3rd..? just kidding, second! Definitely recommended. Fair warning though, it has a very powerful odor when leaving the body!"
