"This is one product that some people might have a problem with because it is so obviously effective. When I take a Niacin supplement I want to know that it has entered my system--the heat is turned on! That's fine with me, and I do know that this Twinlab Niacin is being absorbed. I only wish Twinlab would make bottles of 240 capsules."

"I am taking niacin as as part of a program(exercise, diet, supplements) to lower my cholesterol and am trying to avoid medication route. I cannot say if the niacin has helped yet as I have not had a follow up test. I can say that taking pure form niacin (Twinlab) does cause the flush but I view that as a sign (science experiment) that the niacin is entering the bloodstream. Taking on an empty stomach results in the intensive red flushed skin, itching etc but it subsides. Taking on a full stomach brings a lesser or minimal reaction. Hope it helps bring down my cholesterol."
"I previously used Squibb niacin but they stopped making it so the doctor suggested Twin labs. I take 500 mg 2 x a day. I have been taking niacin for 9 years following heart surgery. It greatly increased my hdl and lowered the ldl and lowered the triglicerides as well. I take this in addition to a zocor generic. Following heart surgery I went to a lipid clinic. A blood test showed my chloresteral would respond to niacin; and it has. I would suggest anyone should talk to a cardiologist, not a gp, about starting niacin"

"If I have to fight cholesterol this way, I'd rather take statin drugs! No other supplement ever has caused me so much discomfort even when taken with food as suggested. I really felt I was burning up and this feeling lasted for about 30 minutes each time. I tried it about 3 times then gave up. So, if you like to flush this is the product for you."
