"I bought this product for my wife a few months ago because she had problems with fluid building up in her lungs. She went to the doctor and she recommened antibiotics. She refused because of the danger associated with antibiotics. He then recommended elderberry. She used this other product with some success. I then researched and found Sambucus. Since using the product she has gotten great results. I even forgot that she had the problem, and she don't even take it everday. In additon she and my 4 yr old have problem with their sinuses. Again, the problem is almost non existent. On our last purcjhase we bought 4 bottles. Needless to say we will continue using this product."

Wonderful stuff that tastes great!, November 10, 2008

"I purchased this product because I was told that back in the olden days, Elderberry syrup was given all the time to boost the immune system. Like many things, that tradition has been lost, but I decided to try it on my 3 year old. He had his adenoids out and then the doctor said he might have some slight allergies, since he still had a bit of a runny nose- off and on. I did not want to give him daily allergy medicine so instead I chose to give him this syrup. I have been giving it to him since June 2008 and he has not had a runny nose. It tastes great.......like thick grape syrup, which kids really like. I am very happy with the results. I only wish they made a bigger bottle and it only would cost a little more, since I go through this stuff pretty quickly. Give it a try!"

"My mom's massage therapist recommended this syrup. My mom had a lingering cough and my daughter had a problem with one ear (felt clogged and hearing was muffled) since having jaw surgery two years ago. Doctors told her she would need surgery to fix the problem...but after a week of Sambucol the ear was clear and she hears fine. It also worked to clear up my mom's cough. Now I've found it for the very best price on Vitacost! Yippeee!"

"With winter most people are cooped up together & germs have a field day, not to mention what the kids bring home! Sambucol will knock out any germ. When I feel something coming on, I double the dose for a couple of days & I don't get sick. My little son loves it & always wants more. My husband also takes it & neither he or my son have been sick in quite a while. Take it everyday & your chances of getting sick are very slim. This stuff is wonderful!! My secret weapon. My mother has an immune system 'disorder' & cannot use the Immune Booster version as it irritates her system & she doesn't feel well on it. Original only for us!

My only complaint is the product disappeared from vitacost for a short while & is now back with artificial raspberry flavor instead of raspberry extract & sodium benzoate has been added 'to preserve freshness'. This change doesn't make me happy as I'm trying to steer clear of preservatives & artificial anythings in as many things as possible & now it's in my Sambucol!! grr. I know this from a very recent order; the ingredients list as of this review hasn't been updated yet. This quite possibly doesn't affect the effectiveness, but time will tell. The flavor is slightly different & now includes that slight sting of preservative."

"My family has been using this product for years it works for every member of every age and the unique benefit is the first symptom whether sniffle, sore throat, cough, etc. you start taking Nature's Way Sambucol and it can knock it out in 24 hours - if you take it after illness is onset it relieves many symptoms and helps speed recovery...keep it refrigerated after opening lasts a long time. "You have to take this when your viral symptoms first appear (like first 24 hours) for it to work. It TRULY knocks out cold, flu, and other viral infections. When my family and I wait more than a day, though, it's not nearly as effective. We always have a case of this on hand for the year -- we swear by it -- a great purchase!!!"
