Uber Convenient, Good Quality, Flavorful

"These pre-cooked rice products by Tasty Bite are all pretty awesome. I resisted the concept for quite a while, since cooking rice isn't really difficult; however, I rarely am in the mood for rice, so having a few of these packets around works well for me. Also, these are great when you need to round out a meal and aren't in the mood to do a lot of cooking.
This version (Ginger Lentil Rice) is very flavorful, without being too hot-spicy. I don't think it requires any doctoring, although I do doctor it depending on my mood. I might add a touch of a specialty oil, for instance. Sometimes I also add just a touch of water (about a teaspoon) to the packet before microwaving, to make the rice a little softer.
I typically use about 1/3 to 1/2 of a packet, and have found that these keep in the refrigerator very well and reheat easily. I've never kept one longer than a week, but none of them have ever gone bad, so I'm unsure how long you could keep it. No reason you couldn't put any leftovers in the freezer if you want of course.
I think I've tried every flavor of these rice packets, and they are all excellent. Overall though, I prefer the plain white basmati, since it's really a great, quick staple to have on hand."
